EUGENIO DERBEZ RECIBE ESTRELLA EN EL PASEO DE LA FAMA DE HOLLYWOOD
El pasado 10 de marzo, el actor mexicano Eugenio Derbez se convirtió en la celebridad número 2,576 en recibir una estrella en el paseo de la fama de Hollywood. Leron Gubler, presidente y CEO de la Cámara de Comercio de Hollywood le dio inicio a la ceremonia en honor al actor y también productor mexicano, donde destaco las cualidades y esfuerzos del talentoso comediante. Siguiendo el discurso de Gubler, Derbez presento a Joel Villagrán, un hombre que conoció cuando recién llego a Los Ángeles, y quien eligió para que hablara en nombre de los hispanos que radican en Estados Unidos. Villagrán compartió las siguientes palabras “en nombre de todos los latinos en Estados Unidos, felicidades por tu estrella en Hollywood, deseo que tenga más éxito en el futuro, si él tiene éxito, todos tendremos éxito. Eres uno de nosotros, te queremos mucho Eugenio Derbez, “vivan los latinos”, exclamo Villagrán.

Jennifer Garner, la actriz americana y compañera de Derbez en la película “Milagros del Cielo” le mando una carta en la que felicita al mexicano por su logro en Hollywood y en la que le agradecía al pueblo mexicano por compartir a su estrella. Otros artistas que acompañaron al comediante y celebraron su logro fueron Adam Sandler y Rob Scheinder.
A su vez, Derbez le agradeció a sus padres por su apoyo y por “contagiarle” el amor y pasión por el mundo del entretenimiento. Durante su discurso, el actor le agradeció su logro a la comunidad latina “esta estrella es gracias a ustedes”. Derbez le dio una dedicatoria especial a su esposa y a sus hijos a quienes el considera sus 5 pilares. Les dijo, “esta estrella tiene cinco puntas, y sin ninguna de estas puntas no es una estrella. De la misma forma en que yo no sería quien soy sin mis cinco pilares, ustedes”. Con emoción, agradecido y lleno de felicidad, Eugenio Derbez se unió a casi 80 artistas hispanos en recibir su estrella en el paseo de la fama.
Eugenio Derbez receives star on the Hollywood walk of fame
On March 10th, Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez became the celebrity number 2,576 to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce started to the ceremony in honor of the Mexican actor and producer, where he highlighted the qualities and efforts of the talented comedian. Following Gubler’s speech, Derbez presented Joel Villagrán, a man that the actor met when he first got to Los Angeles and who he chose to speak on behalf of the Hispanics that live in the U.S. In his speech, Villagrán shared, “on behalf of all the Latinos in the United States, congratulations on your star, we wish you more success in the future, because if he is successful, we are successful. You are one of us; we love you Eugenio Derbez, “Vivan Los Latinos”.
Actress and co-star, Jennifer Garner, who worked with the recipient on the film Miracles From Heaven, sent a letter to Derbez congratulating him on his achievement in Hollywood, and where she also took the time to thank Mexico for sharing their star with the rest of the world. Other artists who attended and shared the comedian’s achievement were Adam Sandler and Rob Scheinder.
During his speech, Derbez thanked his parents, for their support him and for “infecting him” with love and passion for the entertainment industry. The actor also thanked the Hispanic community saying “this star is also for all of you”. However, the Derbez took time to specially thank his wife and children, who he considers the five pillars in his life. He said, “This star has five points, and without any of these points it’s not a star. In the same way that I would not be who I am without my five pillars, you”. With emotion, thankful and full of happiness, Eugenio Derbez joined the nearly 80 Hispanic artists that have received a star on the Walk of Fame.
