ICYMI THERE ARE LOTS OF NEW WORDS

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) THERE ARE LOTS OF NEW WORDS NOW IN THE DICTIONARY

Merriam Webster dictionary just got a whole lot bigger and some of them are bound to cause some confustration, confusion and frustration. There are 1400 new words added, some that are two words combined as one and several slang terms as well. As you go through the list some of the words seem like a sign of the times. Like adding uber, ‘We ubered to the airport.’ Others just feel wrong to even say, such as unsmartable, not smart. The sentence example they give is, ‘That was an unsmartable decision.

Then there are the words that just come across as lazy. Those words that are actually two words combined into one because apparently it takes too long to say two complete words. Some of those new words are ‘trumor’, a rumor that’s verified true, ‘gratisfaction’, gratitude and satisfaction, and we can’t forget the most important ‘cham’, cheese and ham.

Right now I’m getting ‘confungry’, confused and hungry, plus I feel like a real ‘wackadoodle’ going on and on about these crazy new words. So if you’re a ‘dataphile’, a person that loves to collect knowledge or information, then check out the many new words and phrases and I’ll just see you all ‘tomorning’! (Yes, that’s tomorrow morning!)
