What is the main inspiration behind this collection, and how is it reflected in each piece?

It's inspired by the serenity of the timeless, "The Ancient Dark” presents garments that tell

stories and become tangible sanctuaries. To achieve this, we draw upon and are inspired by

techniques that have endured over time. We believe that this longevity is no coincidence.

What notable materials and techniques have you used in this collection, and why?

The collection is crafted using single fiber natural compositions. This decision was made with the circularity of the garments and their end of life cycle in mind. Additionally, we employ techniques that minimize waste throughout the process, such as artisanal weaving and zero waste patternmaking. Lastly, we chose neutral tones not only to offer a sense of refinement and sophistication to those seeking a fusion of ancestral techniques with contemporary forms but also to avoid fleeting trends, maintaining a pursuit of the timeless.

Is there any cultural, artistic, or historical reference that has influenced your designs?

Every edition of Studio Cumbre, and this one is no exception, is inspired by a dialogue between cultures. The brand draws influence from Japanese cuts and patterns, a culture I admire and study for its ability to shape forms while minimizing waste as well as from Latin American weaving techniques, a region I come from. Both serve as a foundation for creating functional and versatile pieces. These influences transform the designs into garments that optimize resources and highlight pure forms.

How would you describe the essence of this collection in three words?

I believe the collection seeks Timelessness through the synthesis of tradition and

contemporaneity.

What message do you hope to convey through these garments?

Studio Cumbre’s goal is to promote a responsible approach to production, emphasizing

functional and versatile garments designed to last. The brand invites people to celebrate pieces that transcend fleeting trends and embody an ethical commitment, prioritizing quality over quantity and craftsmanship over speed, ultimately creating meaningful and enduring garments.Fashion and sustainability are often seen as opposing concepts. Etymologically, sustainability refers to something that endures, that remains unchanged over time. Conversely, fashion is ephemeral and transient. I believe our message is that both can coexist that sustainable fashion is possible, and that we can find a balance without compromising contemporary aesthetic standards.
