Flashes, red carpets, opening nights. That is Miami’s glow, and for more than a decade Susset Cabana has been one of its leading figures. A daughter of Miami and of a father whose entrepreneurial drive turned the American dream into reality, at the helm of Peacock Public Relations, which she founded and which Brickell Magazine described as one of Miami’s premier public relations firms, she turns her clients into headlines and brands into household names.

Her influence spans entertainment, music, fashion and art. The brands and figures that matter most choose her as their strongest card.

Her name travels as far as her clients, from Los Angeles to New York, with the University of Miami, her alma mater, at the root of everything she has built.

A new chapter now opens in that trajectory. Naples, the jewel of Florida’s southwest coast, known for its boutiques, its galleries and its yacht harbor, presents Naples Swim Week, its own fashion week, with curated runway shows dedicated to swimwear and resort fashion that bring together designers and tastemakers. Leading its entire media presence is Susset Cabana, of Peacock Public Relations.

IN HER OWN WORDS

Your parents chased the American dream. What of them do you recognize in yourself today, at the helm of your own company?

My father is also an entrepreneur, so I know I’ve developed a desire to run my own business from him. From an early age, I saw how he was able to grow his company and his client list. He’s also very personable and funny, which makes people easily like him and gravitate towards working with him. My parents are definitely living their American dream and they worked very hard to make sure my sisters and I would have the opportunity to choose our own paths in life. I learned how to work with honesty and integrity from both of my parents. They were strict when I was a young girl but today, I see how that has paid off in the long run. I’m extremely thankful for their love and support!

Naples Swim Week is your new project. How are you preparing for what’s ahead?

In this case, Naples Swim Week is happening for the first time ever so I’m excited to be part of its big debut. I think it’s definitely going to receive lots of coverage and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow larger in the years to come.

What personal mark do you want to leave on Naples Swim Week?

I would love to see Naples Swim Week covered in publications across the world and see it become a main event within the swim industry. I personally want to make sure it’s a success and I want to make sure it’s featured on every social media platform out there!

What makes the major brands choose you?

I believe clients like to work with a publicist who they can trust. I’m always ready to work and I have a positive outlook on life. I love creating big dreams with my clients and helping them understand the benefits of PR before we begin working together.

How much does a profession like yours weigh in an artist’s career or in a great brand’s image?

My job is to help artists get more attention in the media. I can also help to connect them with people who may be able to open new doors of opportunities for them. That’s why people choose to align themselves with me. I help connect the dots and my work helps them garner more credibility and trust from the public.

“The future of swim and resort fashion.” That is Naples Swim Week’s promise, and it now carries the name of Susset Cabana.
