Nestled against the Atlas Mountains, Kasbah Tamadot is a serene retreat with a rich history. Originally built over a century ago as a home for a local governor, it was later purchased by Richard Branson in 2005 and became part of the Virgin Limited Edition Collection. Despite suffering substantial damage in the 2023 earthquake, the kasbah has been beautifully restored, retaining its unique charm and offering a peaceful oasis.

The kasbah’s design blends traditional Moroccan architecture with modern luxury, featuring exquisite carved doors, intimate courtyards, and secret passageways. Guests can wander through its lush gardens, where fragrant jasmine trellises and espaliered apple trees frame the pool. The property is also filled with fascinating artifacts from Luciano Tempo, the Venetian antiquarian who previously owned the kasbah, including large bronze and wooden chests that add to its captivating atmosphere.
Kasbah Tamadot offers a range of accommodations, from atmospheric rooms in the old kasbah to more luxurious options in the form of glamorous Berber tents and six private riads with three-bedroom suites and pools. Each space is thoughtfully designed to provide a unique experience, with modern comforts paired with the kasbah’s traditional Moroccan elements.
More than just a hotel, Kasbah Tamadot is a place where history, culture, and luxury converge. Whether exploring the gardens, enjoying the tranquil courtyards, or relaxing in its luxurious accommodations, guests can immerse themselves in the beauty and serenity of this timeless retreat.
