Se ha demostrado que tener perros en el lugar de trabajo realmente puede levantar la moral y aumentar la motivación de los empleados. Con más y más empresas permitiendo perros en el trabajo se están dando cuenta que sus empleados utilizan menos días de enfermedad y son más productivo. También parece disminuir el estrés de estos mismos empleados. Son más activos al no estar atados a su escritorio porque tienen que levantarse para caminar a su perro. Tener un perro los obliga a levantarse y llevar al perro a pasear, dando al empleado y al perro un merecido descanso.
Otros empleados sin mascotas también están viendo los beneficios de tomar descansos para visitar a sus animales domésticos, tomándose un descanso para aliviar el estrés. Les da a los empleados algo alegre para hablar y crea un ambiente cálido y amoroso. Cuando los empleados están felices y saludables en el trabajo es menor la posibilidad de que llamen enfermos o se tomen más días libres.
Hay beneficios cuando se tienen perros en la oficina, pero siempre hay otros aspectos que considerar antes de poner en práctica. Pregúntate, ¿Los perros tienen suficiente espacio adentro y afuera? ¿Alguno de los empleados tienen alergias que puedan resultar en una situación problemática? ¿Los perros estan bien entrenados? Tal vez su oficina podría hacer un periodo de prueba de un mes para ver cómo funciona y luego ajustar las reglas adecuadamente.
Al final perros hacen que los empleados estén más felices y ojala hagan su dia en el trabajo menos “RUFF!”
SOMETIMES IT’S “RUFF” AT WORK
It’s been shown that dogs in the workplace can actually boost morale, and increase employee’s motivation. With more and more companies allowing dogs at work they are seeing their employees using less sick time, and being more productive. It also seems to lower the stress of these same employees. They are more active by not being chained to their desk and getting up to walk their dog. Having a dog there forces them to get up and take the dog for a walk, giving the dog and the employee a much needed break.
Other employees without pets are also seeing benefits by taking breaks to visit pets for a stress relieving break. It also gives employees something light hearted to talk about and creates a warm, loving atmosphere. When employees are happier and healthier at work they are less likely to call out sick.
There are benefits to having dogs in the office but there are always things to consider before putting this into effect. Will the dogs have space, inside and outside? Do any employees have allergies that could result in a problematic situation? Are the dogs coming to the office trained? Maybe your office could do a trial run for a month to see how it works out and then policies can be adjusted.
In the end dogs make employees happier and hopefully they will make you’re day at work not so “RUFF”!
