Foundation can make your skin look better and you look younger but if you aren’t using the right one for your skin type it can also have the opposite effect, especially as you age. Foundation has a nasty habit of sinking into lines and wrinkles and making them look worse than they actually are. First a couple tips to help with that. Always let any moisturizer dry completely before applying any other makeup and you should always use a primer. A silicone based primer sets a smooth base for the rest of your makeup. Don’t forget concealer before your foundation and never put your foundation on with your fingers. Use a makeup sponge or a brush to allow for even coverage and no added oils on your face.
Here’s a couple foundation brands that are great for more mature skin available in all price ranges. Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup is light and flexible with a mouse like texture. Maybelline has one called Instant Age Rewind that is super concentrated and infused with goji berry and collagen to tighten skin. If you’re an Avon shopper their Anew line has an Age Transforming Foundation that contains antioxidant complex.
On the more expensive side you have Diorskin Nude Air Serum that offers an SPF of 25 and is infused with Oxygen Activ technology. Also Lancome Renergie Lift Anti-Wrinkle Lifting Foundation with an SPF of 20. Renergie also has a Micro-Lift technology with pure vitamin E. It may take some testing and sampling but finding the perfect foundation is crucial to stay looking your best.
